Day by day

The itinerary

Day 01

Marrakech to Dades Valley via Aït Benhaddou and Skoura

Depart at 8:30 am and head towards Tizi n'Tichka Pass at an altitude of 2260 m (7417 ft), the highest road in Morocco. With its steep valleys, rocky plains, and deep narrow canyons, this route reveals Berber hamlets built of pisé still clinging to the mountainsides, with their strikingly beautiful fortified architecture offering unique panoramic views.
Visit the picturesque Berber village of Aït Ben Haddou, which has often been used as a film location.
After lunch, continue your drive through peaceful Ouarzazate at 1160 m (3807 ft), then on to the small sleepy town of Skoura, surrounded by an impressive palm grove.
Visit the imposing Kasbah of Amredil, once owned by the Glaoui family, and cross the fortress town of El Kelaa M'Gouna at 1450 m (4759 ft), located in the heart of the rose country.

Day 02

Dades Valley to Erg Chebbi dunes and desert camp

After breakfast, head further southeast. Cross the administrative town of Tinghir and continue to Todgha Gorge, with its sheer cliffs rising 300 m (985 ft) high.
After lunch in the Berber town of Tinjdad, drive to the Tafilalet oasis with its thousands of palm groves, then cross the peaceful town of Erfoud, known for its souk overflowing with dates of every variety, particularly in October. This is also where the Date Festival takes place at the end of the date harvest.
After 53 km (33 miles) southeast, reach the amazing dunes of Erg Chebbi, which extend for 30 km (19 miles).
Saddle up your camel for a 2-hour journey to the Berber tents located in the heart of the desert. Tea is served upon arrival by "the blue men of the Sahara".

Dinner is also served at the camp, and the night is spent in the tent.

Day 03

Sunrise over the dunes and return to Marrakech

Wake up before sunrise to enjoy the impressive view of the sun rising over the dunes. Ride your camel back to the inn (auberge) for breakfast.
After taking a shower, you will be driven back to Marrakech.
Visit the picturesque former Galoui Kasbah located in the heart of Ouarzazate.
Have lunch at a restaurant overlooking the Kasbah and resume your trip to Marrakech.
Arrive at around 6 pm.
