3-Day Marrakech to Fez Desert Tour with Erg Chebbi Camel Trek

• Start driving from Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi n'Tichka Pass, the highest zigzag road pass in Morocco. If interested, stop along the way to enjoy and photograph the landscape views. This pass is also the gateway to the Sahara Desert.

• Stop at the World Heritage Site of Aït Benhaddou. This fortified village has also been used as a backdrop for filming many movies, including Gladiator and The Mummy. View the famous Ksar houses here - a group of earthen buildings surrounded by high walls and a classic example of South Moroccan architecture.

• Have lunch and then proceed to see the Berber villages before arriving at Boumalne Dades, a small town. Stroll past cultural symbols and handicrafts in the shops and houses here.

• Next, stop at the famed Rose Valley of Morocco. During spring, the whole valley is covered with pink flowers, which makes it an ideal time to witness the rose festival as well.

Overnight stay in a hotel.

• Leave for Merzouga, where the highest sand dunes of Morocco are located.

• After one and a half hours of driving, arrive at the Todgha Gorges. Go for a short walk with the tour guide to enjoy the views.

• Continue driving towards the Sahara Desert and stop at Tinejdad for lunch.

• Proceed towards Erfoud, an oasis town in the Sahara Desert. In the nearby areas, come across varied rock and fossil formations.

• Move on towards Tafilalt, one of the largest Saharan oases in Morocco. Pass through small Berber villages before arriving at Merzouga. Here, ride a camel towards the Erg Chebbi sand dunes.

• Spend the night in a Berber camp with dinner under the stars and some local music.

• Opt for a camel ride for perfect sunrise views.

• After a shower and breakfast, leave for Fez, a northeastern Moroccan city also known as the cultural capital of the country. On the way, pass by Rissani, Errachidia, and Midelt.

• Have lunch.

• Then continue on towards Fez. Take pictures of wild monkeys in the Cedarwoods along the way.

Drop back at the hotel.
