3-Day Sahara Desert Tour from Marrakech with Erg Chebbi Camel Ride

• After breakfast, pick up by our English-speaking driver.

• Drive through Tizi n'Tichka Pass, the boundary between the Western and Central High Atlas Mountains, with stunning views over the Imouzzar and Taddart Berber villages as well as the zigzagging road of Tichka.

• Continue via the Telouet Valley with a short visit to Pacha Glaoui's abandoned kasbah.

• Travel along the Ounila Valley to arrive at Aït Benhaddou.

• Stop for lunch.

• Visit the magical ksars of this place, a true Moroccan UNESCO World Heritage Site. The site is also known as a picture and movie location, where several international films were shot, including Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, The Mummy, Kundun, and Alexander. In total, about 43 films have used this location. Enjoy the architecture of the buildings, which are about four centuries old. The place was once used as a trade center for caravans coming from Toubouktou and heading to Marrakech and the whole north of Morocco.

• After the visit, continue via Ouarzazate.

• Optional visit to the movie studio, known as Moroccan Hollywood.

• Drive along the Road of 1000 Kasbahs and pass through Skoura, Kelaa Mgouna, and Boumalen Dades.

• Arrival at Dades Gorges.

Overnight at the guest house.

Dades Gorge - Todra Gorge - Merzouga; 270 km

• After breakfast, take a short drive to Todra Gorge.

• Marvel at the huge rocks for climbers, pass through the magnificent palm oasis, and visit inside the gorges before returning to the main road.

• Drive through Tinghir, Tinjdad, and Erfoud.

• Optional visit to the marble factory.

• Continue to Merzouga via Rissani, the ancient capital of the Tafilalte region. It was once a major caravan center.

• Visit the mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif, the founder of the Alaouite Dynasty of Morocco in 1631.

• Proceed to the town of Merzouga.

• Taste the welcome mint tea, then meet the camel leader to begin a 1.30-hour camel ride to the Erg Chebbi dunes. Enjoy the sunset on the way.

Overnight at the nomadic camp.

Erg Chebbi - Merzouga - Alnif - Tazzarine - Agdez - Ouarzazate - Marrakech; 570 km

• Wake up early to enjoy the sunrise views in the desert.

• After breakfast, join the camels again and ride back by a different route over the dunes, returning to our waiting vehicle in Merzouga.

• Continue on the way through Alnif, Tazzarine, and part of the long Draa Valley before arriving at Agdez.

• Proceed to Marrakech via Ouarzazate and Tizi n'Tichka Pass (2260 m).

• Arrival in Marrakech around 8 pm.
