Located about 70 kilometres from Marrakech, Imlil is the last village accessible by road before climbing the famous Mount Toubkal, the highest point of the Moroccan Atlas. Known as the starting point for many hikes, including the ascent of Toubkal, Imlil and its valley also offer a real change of scenery. With pure, abundant water, many orchards, and breathtaking panoramas, the valley reveals another, lesser-known side of the region.

Day 01

Imlil Valley, Berber Villages, and Mount Toubkal

• This full-day trip to the Imlil and Asni valleys takes you to explore hidden Berber villages in the High Atlas Mountains, enjoy a hiking tour, and visit an argan oil production site in the High Atlas foothills. You will also discover the Berber way of life in the villages and admire the dramatic landscape during a guided 1.5-hour hike.
• This trip from Marrakech takes you to the heart of the Atlas Mountains, starting from the great dam of Lalla Takerkoust and the High Atlas. We then find ourselves at the foot of Toubkal, the highest mountain in Morocco and the second-highest peak in Africa, at over 4,161 metres. After that, we reach the small town of Tahanaout, where farmers from the region gather twice a week, on Tuesday and Saturday, for the great souk.
• If it is souk day, we will stop to visit the market.
• Enjoy a traditional lunch in a local restaurant in Imlil Valley.
