During this 2-day desert tour to the Draa Valley and Zagora from Marrakech, you will travel through the High Atlas Mountains and the amazing landscapes of the Berber villages, passing through the old ksars of Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO-listed village. The itinerary

Day 01

Marrakech to Zagora via Aït Benhaddou and Ouarzazate

In the morning, after breakfast, begin your adventure to discover the deep south and the Draa Valley on a private tour from Marrakech to the Zagora Desert in a 4x4 or luxury minivan.
Cross Berber villages and head into the High Atlas via the Tizi n'Tichka pass, one of Morocco's great mountain passes at an altitude of 2260 m.
After crossing the mountains and enjoying the change of scenery and dramatic landscapes, arrive at the kasbah of Aït Benhaddou, a World Heritage Site built in the 17th century and one of the most attractive landmarks in the area.
Visit the kasbah and its fortified palaces with a local professional guide. Near the kasbah, stop for lunch in a local restaurant. After lunch, continue to Ouarzazate, where you will stop to take pictures of the old UNESCO-listed Kasbah Taourirt.
After that, continue south towards Zagora through the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs and the biggest palm grove in Morocco, stretching about 185 km.
On arrival, you will be welcomed with mint tea. Relax and arrange your luggage for another adventure on camels to witness the beautiful sunset over the small dunes and the palm grove.
After a 1-hour camel ride, reach your final destination: a desert camp in the middle of nowhere, where you will spend a beautiful night under a nomadic Berber tent.

Day 02

Zagora Sunrise and Return to Marrakech

Wake up early to enjoy a memorable sunrise behind the mountains and small dunes of the Zagora Desert. Then, a traditional breakfast will be served.
After breakfast, ride camels back to your hotel in Zagora.
After a shower, drive back to Marrakech.
Cross the Draa Valley once again by way of the village of Agdez.
Stop to visit Kasbah Tamnouggalte, considered the first kasbah in this 500-year-old region.
Cross the Anti-Atlas to arrive in the city of Ouarzazate, where you will stop to visit the cinema studios (optional).
After that, continue towards Marrakech. A few kilometres after Ouarzazate, stop for lunch in a typical restaurant.
After lunch, drive through the Tichka pass, then return to Marrakech and be dropped off at your accommodation.
