The itinerary

Day 01

Ouirgane Valley, Berber Villages and Forest Walk

To get to Ouirgane, you and your guide will head south of Marrakech. If it is a Tuesday or a Saturday, you can visit the souk (market) at Tahnaout or Asni. You will also have a camel ride on the way to Ouirgane, and your guide will be more than happy to take you around and show you the area.
Once you get to Ouirgane Village, you will travel around the vast ancient forest of Ouirgane, passing many other Berber villages and homes. Some of the trees in the forests of North Africa can grow up to 55 meters in height. You may see examples of Atlas cedar, Algerian oak, and black European pine.
Lunch will be served at a local house.
The walk has lovely views, particularly over Youkoub Elmansour and the salt mining area.

Know before you go

Depart from Marrakech at 8:30 am.
Our driver will pick you up from your hotel or riad and drive about 1 hour to Ouirgane Valley through the Moulay Brahim Canyon and Asni Berber weekly market.
