Marrakech to Imlil and Trek to Toubkal Base Camp

  • Transfer from Marrakech to the little village of Imlil and begin the trek.
  • Head along the Mizane Valley, first passing the village of Aremd and then continuing to the shrine of Sidi Chamarouch.
  • Continue east, crossing the flood plains as the route follows mule tracks and climbs into the high rocky cliffs above the valley.
  • Cross the river and eventually arrive at the pastoral shrine of Sidi Chamarouch, which attracts both tourists and pilgrims. From here, the trail climbs steadily, snaking and zigzagging up to the snowline and the Toubkal Refuge (3207 m), where you will stop for the night.
