Itinerary

1. Day 1: Marrakech to Ait Ben Haddou to Ouarzazate to Dades Gorges

   • Pick-up from your hotel.

   • Begin the Merzouga desert tour from Marrakech and cross the Tizi N Tichka pass of the High Atlas Mountains (2,260 m), enjoying the mountainous road and the spectacular Berber villages.

   • Reach Ait-Ben-Haddou village, the fortified ksar with its beautiful Kasbahs. 

   • Go on a walk with a local guide to discover The Ksar and climb to the top of the hill through the alleys of Ait-Ben-Haddou.

   • Have lunch and continue to Dades Gorge via Ouarzazate and Skoura and the long valley of roses (the seasons of roses is in late May). Upon arrival to Boumalne Dades, deviate into a secondary road heading up through Dades gorges. 

   • Enjoy beautiful Rock formations (Called the monkey feet) and fortified Kasbahs scenery along the Dades river with the sunset as a backdrop. 

   • Stop at the canyons for a drink or to admire the majestic scenery.

   • Drop off at the hotel.

2. Day 2: Dades Gorges to Todgha Gorge to Erfoud to Rissani to Merzouga

   • Have a traditional breakfast.

   • Drive around the colourful Berber villages of the Dades valley to get to Tineghir. 

   • Go on a trek along the 300 m high canyons. 

   • Head to Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga Sahara Desert and have lunch in Tinjdad or Touroug.

   • Arrive at the dunes of Erg Chebbi. A small off-road will take you to the edge of the golden dunes where camels will be waiting for you. The luggage will be loaded in a 4x4 car and transported to the camp. You can enjoy a beautiful camel ride over the sand dunes and watch a majestic Sahara sunset on your way to the camp. 

   • Go to your beautiful comfortable private tents equipped with ensuite bathrooms and showers to relax and settle before dinner time.

3. Day 3: Merzouga to Alnif to Tazarine to Agdez to Marrakech

   • Enjoy the sunrise over the highest dunes of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga.

   • Have breakfast in the camp, pack and go back either on camels or by 4x4, leaving the dunes behind. 

   • Drive to Marrakech through Alnif, Tazarine, Draa valley, Agdez and Ouarazazate. In Ourazazate, have lunch and stop to take photos in front of the famous Taourirt Kasbah. 

   • Continue to Marrakech, where your Merzouga desert experience ends. Cross the Atlas Mountains and the Berber villages between Ouarzazate and Marrakech. 

   • Drop off at your accommodation.
