Day by day

The itinerary

Day 01

Marrakech to Aït Benhaddou and Dadès Valley

After leaving Marrakech, cross the spectacular Tizi n'Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains.
Travel through several Berber villages, where riverside oases and barren hillsides are clustered with Kasbahs, especially at the UNESCO site of Aït Benhaddou.
After lunch, drive onward to Ouarzazate and the Valley of the Roses, with beautiful views over the Dadès Valley, known as the valley of a thousand Kasbahs.

Stay overnight in Dadès.

Day 02

Todra Gorge to Erg Chebbi Desert Camp

After breakfast, drive to Todra Gorge for a short walk and visit one of the women's cooperatives making carpets.
Continue towards the Sahara, crossing Erfoud, the fossil capital, and then on to Erg Chebbi, where you will ride camels to the camp in the middle of the dunes.
Marvel at the magical sunset from the top of the dunes.

Day 03

Erg Chebbi to Fes via Ziz Valley and Ifrane

After viewing the beautiful sunrise and having breakfast at the campsite, ride the camels back to the auberge.
From there, it will be a long day of driving to Fes. Along the way, there will be plenty of opportunities for photos, especially in the Ziz Valley, Ifrane, and the Cedar Forest, where some Barbary apes still live.

Day 04

Full-Day City Tour of Fes

Enjoy a city tour of Fes, which will take almost the whole day, as you visit its historical sites and handicraft quarters. Fez is known as the intellectual, spiritual, and handicrafts capital of Morocco.
