Description
Go on a 4-day tour and explore the World War I Italian and Austrian Dolomite Front trenches and tunnels on foot, and see the beautiful panoramic views on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Italian declaration of war. Enjoy the stay in the pretty Cortina d’Ampezzo for three nights.
Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrive in Venice
Meet the tour guide at Venice Marco Polo airport / Venice Mestre train station at 2 pm.
Go for sightseeing en route to the Dolomites (2.5 hrs).

Day 2 : Head to Misurina
Drive for 45 minutes to Misurina, and take a jeep trip to the fascinating trenches of panoramic Monte Piana at over 2000 metres / 6560 ft.
Take a 3-4 hour walk around its fascinating, well-preserved positions (5 kms/3 miles, 3 hrs).

Day 3 : Drive to Falzarego Pass
Take a 30-minute drive to Falzarego Pass at over 2000 metres / 6560 ft, for a historically fascinating and highly scenic exploration of the World War I tunnels and trenches of the Sass di Stria (8 km/5 miles, 4 hrs).
Have lunch en route to a mountain refuge.
Visit an interesting local museum before returning to the hotel.

Day 4 : Arrive at Venice Airport
Drive back to Venice airport / Venice Mestre train station via the Piave river, to look at some of the 1917 and 1918 battlefield sites.
