The itinerary

1
Day 01

Arrival in Marrakech

  • Start the tour upon arrival at the airport and meet your Marrakech tour guide.

  • Transfer to your accommodation and, if possible, visit the city of Marrakech.

Day 02

Marrakech to Aït Benhaddou and Ouarzazate

  • After breakfast in your riad, leave Marrakech and head towards Ouarzazate via Tizi n'Tichka, passing through the beautiful hills and mountains of the Atlas. There will be photo stops along the way.

  • Then, take the road from Telouet to visit its magnificent Kasbah, known as Glaoui.

  • After visiting the Kasbah, enjoy the opportunity to walk through the beautiful hillside villages and discover the culture of the Atlas.

  • Continue to Aït Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

  • After lunch, head towards Ouarzazate, the "Hollywood of Africa," whose geography and beautiful landscapes have attracted many world-class film producers.

  • Here, you can visit the studios containing props used in films such as The Mummy, Gladiator, and The Last Temptation of Christ.

  • Later, visit Kasbah Taourirt, another kasbah of the Glaoui family, who served as governors of Ouarzazate, before checking in at your hotel.

Day 03

Ouarzazate to Dades Valley, Todra Gorge, Erfoud and Erg Chebbi

  • After breakfast, head to the Todra Gorge via the palm grove of Skoura.

  • Before arriving at the gorge, you will cross the Valley of Roses and continue through the Dades Valley. Boumalne Dades is a renovated town located at the foot of the Atlas Mountains before reaching Todra Gorge.

  • After lunch, drive to Merzouga through a number of towns and villages, including Erfoud.

  • Before arriving in Erfoud, you will see the old irrigation system locally called "Khettarat".

  • Continue to the fascinating dunes of Erg Chebbi and switch from your vehicle to camels. You will take a camel ride around the sand dunes, enjoy the sunset, and then arrive at the Berber bivouac.

Dinner and show, followed by a night at the Sahara camp.

Day 04

Erg Chebbi to Ziz Valley, Midelt, Azrou, Ifrane and Fez

  • After breakfast, travel through the vast Ziz Valley, which contains millions of palm trees, until Errachidia.

  • Drive through the gorges of Ziz and then across the Middle Atlas, enjoying its beautiful views.

  • Stop in Midelt for lunch.

  • After lunch, drive to Fez, crossing the cedar forest of Azrou, the largest in Morocco.

  • Stop for photos with Barbary monkeys.

  • Then continue to Ifrane, called "Little Switzerland of Morocco" because of its European-style buildings.

  • Arrive in Fez in the afternoon and stay in a riad.

Day 05

Guided City Tour of Fez

  • Start the morning by visiting the main monuments and historical sites of the city with your Fez tour guide, such as Medersa Bouaananiya and the University of Karaouiyine, known as the oldest university in the world.

  • Visit the king's palace, enjoy the beautiful panoramic view of Fez, and walk through the old Berber markets in old Fez.

Overnight stay in the riad.

Day 06

Fez to Meknes, Volubilis and Rabat

  • Depart early in the morning after breakfast towards Meknes.

  • Begin the tour with a visit to the ramparts and the monumental 17th-century gates of Bab Mansour and Bab Khemis.

  • Continue exploring the city through the stables (Rua), granaries (Heri), and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, which for a long time was the only mosque that non-Muslims could visit in Morocco before the Hassan II Mosque, then continue by the famous Bab Mansour on the vast Hedim Square.

  • Continue to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis and spend some time exploring the 2000-year-old site to get a picture of life during the Roman Empire.

  • Afterwards, drive to the city of Rabat, the capital of Morocco, for another night.

Day 07

Rabat, Casablanca and Marrakech

  • After breakfast, spend the day visiting the city of Rabat. Take a guided tour and visit the Kasbah Oudayas, erected by a terrible tribe of predators in the twelfth century.

  • Then visit Hassan Tower, where the four facades are decorated differently from each other, three in pink stone and one in grey because of the sea breeze. The remains of the old mosque and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V are next to the tower.

  • After the visit to Rabat, drive on the highway to reach Casablanca.

  • Once in Casablanca, visit the Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque after Mecca, with its wonderful architecture.

  • After the visit, stop for lunch in a local restaurant on the Corniche before continuing your journey to Marrakech.
