3 day trek, Jebel Toubkal and 3 days Desert tour

We spent 3 days with Hamid and brahim as guides along with 4 cooks/muleteers. They were organised, patient, kind and very helpful. I had special gluten free dietary requirements and was catered for very well, considering limited facilities. Good understanding of my needs. hamid had the most delicious trail-mix!Hamid also was very attentive and popped up along the way to ensure that the trip was going well. After the trail we headed towards to Algerian boarder for a night under the Saharan skies - wonderful. Casbas, dunes, fossils, heat, camels, camping, stars and sand - everything we hoped for. Amazing trip run my amazing people. Recommend!

  • Jean

We loved every minute of our trip out to the Sahara with HAMID IDBELAID ! Every detail was attended to and our family had a very memorable holiday, celebrating my son's 12th birthday. I can't say enough about how friendly and accommodating they are! Just book with them, as you will not regret it. If you visit the website private-marrakech-day-trips.com  you will see a wide variety of options to suit any schedule. September  was a perfect time to visit! We can't wait to return and schedule a different itinerary and see more.

    amazing 6 days toubkal circuit

I had an absolutely brilliant time on my 6 days trek in toubkal area. All the places we visited were interesting and exciting and the guides made it so much easier. My guide, Hamid, was great--very knowledgable, fun and focused on making it a great trip. it was a lot of fun!

Fantastically well organized and wonderful family trip! 2 adults, 3 children aged 13, 13 and 11. The staff were exceptional - kind, very well organized and good Guide. I would not hesitate to recommend them or the area. Simple accommodation which is what we wanted, the children slept on the roof under the stars 5 night, excellent simple food.

  • Jean

Everything thoughtful organized, nothing forgotten! Our guide Hamid (exeptionnal fit) really knew the area. Once he understood our physical condition he gave us relevant advices and reliable estimations. Always good mood, always ahead of next event. I can really recommend!

    Mt Toubkal Trek

We booked through Hamid at very short notice. He was amazing, 100% professional, giving us various options with helpful advice, sorting out transfers and accom. Nothing was too much trouble; meeting us in Imlil for a briefing on the two day trek. Our guide Brahim was outstanding, friendly & amusing, leading us up to our refuge on the first night and guiding us safely (encouraging us as well) during the early morning darkness over testing terrain to the summit. The descent too required his expertise and in particular he supported my partner Cathy over some tricky stages. Altogether, having Brahim lead us, made a very challenging trek enjoyable and memorable. The trek catering by the two muleteers was also excellent. Thanks to all for an unforgettable trip.

    Ascent of Toubkal/Local Excursions

Trip of a lifetime, no understatement. Was sad to leave after just over a week in the Atlas mountains, our guides were such selfless hosts, as well as great company. They were the highlight of the trip. Hats off especially to Hamid and Ibrahim, who took us safely up Toubkal and back down, with endless enthusiasm. That people write such glowing reviews is testament to their hard-work and passion. All of the guides were highly professional and made every effort to assist trekkers over tough terrain, and keep a comfortable pace in line with changes in altitude, although this was definitely easier for us having acclimatised in Imlil village before the ascent. More crucially perhaps, the foundations for long-standing friendships were laid and cemented. The mountain climate is blessed relief from the cauldron of heat that is Marrakech in high summer. I will definitely be encouraging people to apply to the follow-up expedition in 2017. For the most complete, authentic experience of the Atlas mountains, look no further.

Hamid is the best guide EVER! Together with a deep knowing of the valleys, trekking advices, he was all the time caring about us.

The conversation we had was enlightening, and the lunch they prepared for us on top of Red Valley was simply delicious :)

This eco-responsible travel it's the best way to get in touch with the locals (the berber people are very generous and interesting to know) and look at the astonishing Maroccan enviroment in an unexpected and unique way.

Definetly I want to come back to Marocco to enjoy a tour in the Sahara Desert, with Hamid of course!

  • Alan

The very best Part of our Trip in Marokko was the Time in Imlil! Hamid spent 3 days with us and showed us the mountains, the villages and the people in Atlas mountains! Thank you Dear Hamid for the Great Time with you....We loved the nature and the people we met so much!!! Hope to come back.

  • anndre

We really enjoyed our time in the mountains. Hamid was a fantastic guide. He was kind and genuine and we enjoyed getting to know him. He made our experience a very memorable and comfortable one. We will definitely recommend your tour to other friends.

  • David

My husband and I hiked the High Atlas Mountains and rode the camels. This company was easy to communicate with. We booked two days in advance and corresponded through email. They met us at our riad. Our driver pointed out different types of things on the drive to the mountains. Our guide while in the mountains was very informative about the culture and took pictures for us when needed. We opted for the 3 hour hike, and it was beautiful. It included a hike up to view the highest peak, then we walked through some of the villages to a waterfall. The meal was the best tajine we had in Morocco. If we had more time in Morocco, we would have taken a several day trip with the company. Getting out of the city and enjoying the quiet and beauty of the mountains is more our style.

  • Jean

Wow ... what can I say .. had a wonderful day Cooking Class in Imlil in Local Berber Family. in the beautiful Atlas Mountains...our guide was fantastic .. speaks several languages.. everything was tailored to our needs.. had a delicious lunch prepared at the owners family home .. I'm definitely coming back to do the 3 day hike..If you want to do one thing .. that you will never forget.. do this ...

Solo hiker with guide from Hamid idbelaid Best Organization From Tourhq. Very good value for the price. Local guide Brahim was professiona and shared his knowledge of the region and culture.

  • KATI

I have recently returned from my Mt Toubkal climbing trip! I cannot say enough about Hamid From Tourhq and the trip he organized. Everything worked like clockwork and my journey went just fine so that all the connections proceeded optimally. completely awesome scenery, fine local food, and the most genial berber people. I loved the variety of my accommodations and the hosts, which presented me with a different ambiance each time.

  • hary

Hamid is so helpful and friendly and knew exactly how to tailor our tour to the things that we were interested in. He speaks very good English and took very good care of us on our tour, ensuring that we safely crossed the crazy traffic roads and never leaving us on our own. He showed us some interesting sites and avoided the things we were not keen on. Some other tours guides take you to certain shops (like carpet shops) and leave you there to endure all the sales blurb. Hamid is great for a tour around Marrakech, where it is so easy to get lost. Plus he kindly gave us to sweet mint tea to try and also some moroccan olive oil an marmalade, which was appreciated. You can maybe get cheaper tour-guides but we highly recommend Hamid for a guide who truly cares about his work and providing a 1st class experience.

Can't recommend Hamid idbelaid enough. Hamid was an excellent, respectful, and humble man from a local village. He was a great source of information and perspective throughout our hike. I can't recommend him enough, and both my partner and I greatly look forward to meeting him again someday.

Without going into the details of the Imlil to Setti Fatma trip (you can find more info on their website), we found it the perfect trek. My partner and I are both pretty athletic but do not have experience at elevations above 3200m, and certainly not in November. The 3200m elevation was juuuuust a slight challenge for us, so it allowed us to really appreciate the views and villages along the way.

In terms of the length, 3 days was perfect. By the end of the third day, we were both quite tired and looking forward to the Hammam and massage waiting for us at our Riad in Marrakech.

November is still a good month for this trip. The mornings were quite chilly, but as soon as the sun came up we took off the jackets and generally walked with only a light jacket. There was just a tiny bit of snow at 3200m which we triumphantly made into an African snowball and tossed at each other for bragging rights.

And in terms of the organization, travelheels.about.ma was a great value and a great service. Highly recommended.

    A bientôt Ibrahim!

Had two age boys and a dad who suffered from vertigo ( me ) - therefore we needed a lot of guidance on where we travel out to. Hamid idbelaid were awesome - they carefully helped us plan hiking , cycling and mule riding - they completely went out their way to make sure we were fully taken care off. Would totally recommend them for all activities - they are very knowledgeable - in addition to this you MUST visit ( and stay as long as you can ) in their the riad they are partnered with ( Auberge-aremd ) , awesome people , delicious food and what rooms and views - planning more trips there

Thank you Hamid , his Friend , uncles and the mules for an totally unforgettable expirence -

    HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

  • Kat

Really well organised. Hamid our guide was very experienced, knew the mountains really well. On the trek itself we were looked after really well. Great good and refreshments. Make sure you remember your own toilet paper for the refuge though.

  • Mari

We have just returned to Marrakech from our hike to Mountain Toubkal, with our very flexible, knowledgeable and accommodating guide, Ibrahim. for us it was exactly what we were looking for and we can't wait to return for one of the other Tours. If you are looking for a tailor made trip to discover the beautiful landscape of the Atlas Mountains, don't look any further than Hamid Idbelaid .

  • Hary

We booked the one day excursion (camel riding and afternoon trek) and we can't rate it highly enough!

Our driver met us at the hotel at 9am and drove us to meet our fantastic guide Hamid. A chilled cup of mint tea before meeting our four legged friends (of the humped variety). Had a meander through the valley on the camels (no spitting or biting.... Actually really nice) before meeting the driver again and heading to the beautiful riad for a lovely lunch with the most spectacular views of the mountains ❤️

After lunch had digested we had a look around a couple of the bedrooms in the riad...... Beautiful. We were gutted that we hadn't planned an overnight stay.

However onwards and upwards (literally) as we made our way to the waterfall. Not too strenuous a walk although sensible shoes probably best. Returned to meet our driver in the town before heading back to the madness of Marrakesh.

Fantastic day! Met the lovely Hamid too..... Nice guy who responds quickly and efficiently to any touristy questions.

Would highly recommend this company. Will certainly use them when we plan to stay longer to experience more of this beautiful country
