Incredible South America Tour

Reviewed May 12, 2016

Jaime is the consummate professional and it is evident that he demands the same in every one of his tour guides. Each brought his/her personality to the tour and were so knowledgeable about the culture and history of their city. And each was fun! We loved that we were taken for lunch to restaurants where each had a relationship with the owner so dined with the locals on the most yummy food representing that area. Two in particular could be on the list with some of the best gourmet meals we have eaten. The vans were immaculate and the drivers so friendly. Each tour and guide was an experience and each had a character of its own. We have had the good fortune to have traveled extensively and rarely do we have a series of tours on a particular trip where each is so terrific. From the first time Jaime and I communicated until the completion of the trip he made sure that our requests were met, since we asked to see some places off the beaten track, and after each tour wanted feedback. he deserves ten stars!

the best time ever

I contacted Jaime Liebrecht of PatagoniaShorex for a private tour of Chile (Puerto Varas) and Argentina (Bariloche) and expressed our wants/desires for our children (10 year twins and 16 year old) for our family's first trip to South America. The tour that Jaime planned for our family was perfect! .... Here's just a sampling of our adventure: From the Puerto Varas area we went zip lining near the slopes of the Osorno Volcano (in heavy fog - which made it even more adventuresome), saw some amazing water falls and fed some Llamas. We went horse back riding, learned how to fly fish, hiked a rain forest and learned about the plants and fauna, visited an endangered animal and puma rescue, ate some authentic Chilean BBQ for lunch and experienced Chile's beautiful Carmenere wine all at a wonderful family-run farm. We also visited island of Chiloe and ventured to Punihuil, where we took a small boat to see two species of penguins that were nesting on some islands. After, we tried the local sea bass for lunch and went shopping for some handmade crafts. We crossed the Andes into Argentina and took a ferry to Bariloche and saw the most amazing views, had fun riding a toboggan sled, ate some amazing Argentinian beef and treated ourselves to some local chocolates for dessert. The hotels and restaurants that Jaime booked for us were excellent ... His attention to detail made traveling easy for our kids. Overall, our experience with Jaime was amazing ... we are looking forward to touring with him again!

a fantastic experience in SouthAmerica

We were very happy with the tours we took on our recent cruise with Celebrity. To begin with, Jaime, I was very happy with your quick responses to our questions before we left on the cruise. We thought the prices for these tours was reasonable considering the service we received. We were on the Celebrity Infinity which left Valparaiso, Chile on January 20, 2013. For every tour the guides were as close to the ship as they could get and we found each other immediately. All the guides were very knowledgable, very nice and very willing to talk about aspects of the culture, the natural settings we were in, the plants and animals and the language. The drivers were all courteous, helpful and drove well. Our tours with Patagoniashorex were at Puerto Montt, Punta Arenas, Puerto Madryn and Punta del Esta. In the other ports we used ship tours. What a difference. The ship tours were crowded and we learned much less. Those guides were also funny and nice but it's hard to get such a personal experience with a large group. We all felt we learned so much more on your tours and enjoyed the port more than we might have. Thank you for recommending we go to Peninsula Valdez at Puerto Madryn. That may be my favorite tour of all. We didn't just see the penguins, sea lions and elephant seals but many local birds and animals that live in the national park. We all agree that taking the private tours gave us a much more personal experience and made the trip to the exotic lands of Patagonia tremendously more enjoyable. Being able to tailor our tours so that we were at locations when the large busses we elsewhere was also a happy advantage. I would highly recommend your company and if we are ever in South America again we will be in touch.
