Guests loved him; a highlight of their trip to Manila

Reviewed August 19, 2019

My guests loved Greg and raved about their experience, calling it a highlight of their tour. Some joked he was "overly knowledgeable, but in a good way" and were thrilled they got a great tour on such short notice -- especially for first-timers in Manila.

Reviewed March 27, 2019

Could not have a better guide to show us around Intramuros and  San Augustine Church.  Greg was very knowledgeable and well versed on his subject abd more.  For someone who is not Filipino, Greg was certainky well versed in his subject matter and presentation. Will defunitely recommend Greg Dorris.  Again, thanks Greg for a job well done!!!

Comments from a Senior Citizen and a Balikbayan

Reviewed April 14, 2018

Comments from my Mom:

The tour was information overload.  I'm not into stuff like that but it complimented Carlos Celdran's Intramuros tour which was kinda theatrical but informative as well.  Greg's tour besides being infor overload was time-pressed as well.  He crammed all info in two hours from World War 1 to World War 2, hisotry and contemporary times also.  He should have given more breathing time for processing and appreciation.

Comments from my Cousin:

Greg presented facts about the history of the Philippines starting with Intramuros and expanding beyond its man made walls into the larger Manila area, the Philippines as a country, and its impact on the world. It was a comprehensive tour not only talking about the broad cultural influences of the Spanish and the Chinese, but also about the changing weather patterns within the nation, the political significance of its location, and the evolution of its people today. The tour itself lasted a little over 2 hours, primarily within the church museum, and then ended with a kalesa ride around the Intramuros walls. During the kalesa ride we made a stop for a rooftop view of Manila where he pointed out areas that were brought up during the tour. If you plan to book Greg as a tour guide, note that he does talk incredibly fast to fit all that information into a short period of time so make sure you're ready for the information overload. I would highly recommend him to any balikbayan's visiting the area, and note that he also provides other tours including a historical walk through the world's oldest Chinatown, and traditional Filipino culinary lessons.
