After an early morning flight from Cairo to Luxor, I was met by the very friendly and competent, Nagla Fathi, my private guide for the day. Nagla showed me many amazing ancient sites in and around Luxor. She was very knowledgeable on ancient Egyptian history, provided thorough explanations and always answered questions with enthusiasm. I appreciated the fact that I was also given time to explore each site at my own leisure. After our road trip and at very short notice, Nagla managed to arrange a special treat. A late afternoon boat trip on the Nile turned into one of the highlights of my day as the friendly crew invited me to steer the felucca.
