If you are debating about getting a guide, or which guide to select, look no further. Mr. Younis is the epitome of professionalism. We had a demanding full day schedule to see all of the sights in Luxor - both the East and West bank. He was waiting for us at our room at 5am. We were the first ones into the Valley of the Kings (a huge plus).  We had a great authentic lunch, and then to save time, he took us to the West bank via ferry. We were able to see all of the sights, and even hit a souvenir shop before our flight out. Additionally, he waited on us at the airport to ensure we made our flight. Throughout the process, he was extremely knowledgeable in regards to all of the sights, which really enhanced the experience. He was super accommodating and friendly, and spoke English very well. I would recommend him 100 times out of 100. Great guide, made for a great day.

Rather than take a large bus cruise ship tour for our Luxor (port Safaga Egypt) stop, we opted for a private tour for 6 of us. We are so glad we did. Ahmed Unis was our excellent guide. He knows both Egypt and historical sites in detail. He was most accommodating, knowledgeable and professional. His English is excellent. We had a spacious 15 passenger van.

We asked him to show us as much of Luxor as he could with the time available. He did just that. For instance, to save time for lunch, which was included, he ordered our entrees by phone ahead of time. Rather than driving 45 minutes to cross the river by bridge and road, we took a 15-minute boat ride. During lunch, the driver took our van to the other side of the river.

While on our 3-hour drive to Luxor, we learned history, culture, religion and background into what we would be seeing. He was eager to answer our questions.

As we passed vendors, he told us where we should shop and where not.

He paid close attention to our comfort. He provided a cooler full of bottles of water. I’m sure we all drank at least 4. He gave us plenty of bathroom and stretch breaks.

We have traveled over the world for 40 years and have high expectations for guides. Ahmed not just met but exceeded them. Hire this guide for an excellent tour!

Back in 2011 during a trip with my classmates, as chance would have it, we had Younis as our guide through the journey from Aswan to Luxor. Being new to the country and the entire traveling experience, He not only made us feel at peace and secure wherever we went, but also made our trip delightful. With a warm, friendly personality, he made us fall in love with Egypt and its delights. He is an extremely resourceful, knowledgeable guide who loves what he does but above all leaves a mark on us the travelers.

Ahmed was my tour guide almost 2 years ago. I have traveled a lot and he is the only travel guide I have actually ever stayed in touch with. He is not just a guide but a friend. He was so honest and fair. He always made sure that we knew how much souvenirs were so we would not get ripped off. Even when he took us to the rug shops, he never made us feel pressured to buy. He was professional and VERY knowledgeable. He is a true historian so if you want to know what's what about the history of Egypt, this is your guy!

We were very fortunate to meet and spend time with Ahmed. His knowledge and enthusiasm were the perfect addition to the amazing sights, sounds and culture of Egypt. We did not make the trip easy for him as my daughter was ill when we arrived. Ahmed took charge and helped her find the right pharmacy. Then, when she was feeling better, she often challenged him about names, dates and places. Of course, he was right and he and my daughter formed a bond. It is easy to say that there is now place on earth like Egypt. We loved the Nile cruise and our time with Ahmed. Best of all, he has a big smile and and easy laugh.
