The trip went straightforward terrible. First, Mr. Raj Singh (who is more like a company owner, I guess) failed to communicate to us that we're supposed to pick up our guide at Haridwar. We had a very tight itinerary as we were only coming for a day with my 1.5 year old son, and he suggested to us that we wait for our guide for an hour (spoiler: it turned out to be more than an hour). Since the guide was late, we had to start without him, and he caught up to us later. Second, the guide that we wound up with was BAD. Shoutout to Mr. Vaibhav, but his explanations and commentaries were scarce, phrases were not connected with each other. I was having trouble understanding his English - let alone translating it to my non-English speaking companion. We had some requests - such as to find a place up in the hills to have lunch and just admire the view or otherwise find a park for the toddler to stretch out his legs and run around - and the guide couldn't help us; he just didn't know where to bring us. Third, there was a terrible miscommunication between Mr. Raj Singh - whom we booked here on tourHQ - and Mr. Vaibhav - who was our guide. Mr. Raj suggested an itinerary, which we approved and okayed, but Mr. Vaibhav didn't know anything about this. We only found out that we are skipping some of the suggested itinerary points when at 3 PM Mr Vaibhav told us "And now you depart back to Delhi". It was hugely surprising - as we have booked the guide from 8 AM to 8 PM. Upon my questioning when do we visit the Beetles Ashram and the waterfall he confusedly said that they were in Rishikesh, we've just walked past them and we have already left to Haridwar. He also said that Mr Raj told him we only need to see Neelkath Mahadev temple, the Jhulas (we only saw one with the guide and one by ourselves) and the Yoga Ashram. Basically, it was a waist of money and time for us - not to mention a huge stress for me. The only upside was the restaurant suggested by Mr Vaibhav. Apart from that, huge disappointment, especially considering I've had some experience with other companies and guides in Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Udaipur, Goa and Simla. This was BY FAR the WORST sightseeing experience in India in my three years here. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE choose some other company.
