Turkey is a beautiful and rich country. I would not have understood the depth of that richness without the vast knowledge of my guide Ugur. His enthusiasm about history and Turkey was evident in seeming to remember every date and detail of thousands of years of history. He made history and what we were seeing interesting and left me wanting more. He was fun, resourceful and thoughtful making our trip flawlessly smooth. He added his own touch to our itinerary making the trip warm and personal. A couple of my favorite moments of the 10 days were exculsively due to him. One was a last minute visit to a friend's home in a chimney-fairy in Cappadocia, another his animated discussion and laughter with the two women who served us lunch in their home and his persistence that we try a roadside yogurt snack despite the first two places we tried being closed.  That snack that seemed at the time to not to be worth the effort, truly was my favorite of the entire trip. He was a pleasure to spend 10 days with and we conversed about anything and everything with ease. If you have the opportunity to spend a few hours or a several days with Ugur as your guide, I know that you'll not be disappointed. 

We had a great time in Turkey thanks to Ugur. He's very knowledgeable about the history, culture, food, and people. Our tour group bonded because he made sure we were all having a great time. We had 2 anniversaries and a birthday and Ugur made plans to celebrate it as a group. He even had the bus pull over so we could take pictures and play in the snow, because everyone on the bus was excited about the views and the snow. It was an awesome trip and we are very thankful to Ugur and his team. We highly recommend him!

It has not even been a week since I finished my tour of Turkey with Uğur as my guide. Any tour company should be very proud and honoured to have such an intelligent, knowledgeable and friendly tour director like Uğur Ünal. The comprehensive information that he provided about the sights, sounds and even tastes from Turkey as well as cultural (traditional and pop culture) and historical facts were truly outstanding. He helped us navigate through the menu (dessert/sweets included) at all our break stops. Although my tour was in the English language, I did get to experience Uğur switching from English to Spanish when I did the Bosporous cruise. As a bilingual speaker myself, I was impressed how smoothly he was able to go between the 2 languages and describe what we were seeing along the shore - and neither are his native languages! He is a credit to the entire Turkish travel industry. As a single female, friends and family were rightly concerned about my safety in Turkey. Uğur made me feel safe. He treated me with respect, like a sister. He made sure my safety and comfort was paramount to his. Above all, he also made sure that I had fun. In Cappadocia I asked Uğur if I could have a photo taken with the janderma. They obliged. Uğur said it was the first time someone in his tour wanted a photo with them. Nothing was too hard for Uğur. All in all, Uğur is the man to show you around Istanbul and Turkey. Because of him I have had a wonderful Turkish experience with a lifetime of memories and new friends made. No amount of money can buy this.

I was excited to visit Turkey but the tour guided by Unur exceeded my expectations. We not only saw many places and touristic sites but we got to know about the culture, how history impacts society nowadays, and live through the eyes of a Turkish person throughout the entire trip. This was an experience that will stay with my for a lifetime. I greatly recommend Unur as your guide for your Turkish adventure.

I mean that literally.  I have been around the world on everything from a 2 hour city tour to an extended 2 week fully guided tour of a country, and Ugur still holds the position of Best Tour Guide Ever.  He was informative and engaging, showing obvious enthusiasm for his country's cultural history.  He was also helpful and available for assistance with daily sundries, hotel issues, food, etc.  His language skillls were great, as he easily slid between three languages constantly throughout our mixed background group, as well as dealing with the locals.  Although the entire tour was punctual and ran like clockwork on his side, Ugur demonstrated extreme patience with us, even when we were lost and made the whole tour late.  It snowed in the mountains one day on the tour, and while we were not scheduled to stop we did get to drive through it.  Knowing that it was the first time some of our group had seen snow, he had the driver stop on the side of the road for a snow ball fight.  The tour was FUN, much in part because of Ugur's humour and personable demeanor, which for me is key.  Ugur made us feel like we were the most fun group that he'd ever traveled with- and while I've heard that from a lot of guides, Ugur made it seem like he genuinely enjoyed showing us around his country.  He was like a friend.  I've tried to stay in touch on social media.  If I ever make it back to Turkey, I will definitely be looking for Ugur again!
