Trip to laikipia

Reviewed May 4, 2019

We went to loisaba tented camps over the Easter break. It was an amazing trip. And what made it even better was our guide Samuel - very punctual with time, very knowledgeable. We learned a lot from him about the wildlife and the way of their loving. He is very patient - we went with a 3 and half month old baby and he made sure that she was the most comfortable.

Thank you Samuel for making our trip so memorable.

Brilliant!

Reviewed January 31, 2019

Sammy is an excellent driver, guide and all round good guy. His knowledge and passion for wildlife was infectious, so much so he was filming a few of the things we saw alongside us! He knew a lot about the wildlife, and speaks excellent English, even understanding our British sense of humour! He was more than happy to talk about life in Kenya, sort out a visit to a local school for us and help out some of his fellow guides when they got stuck in the mud in the Masai. I cannot recommend Sammy enough. He surpassed all of our expectations, and when we come back to Kenya he will be the first person we contact to arrange our safari!

Three phantastic days in Samburu National Park - thanks to Sami!

Reviewed September 23, 2018

My husband and I are just back from threeabsolutely phantastic days to Samburu National Park. As it was our firstsafari, we had some ideas of what to expect, but our expectations have beenexcelled by far. Sami picked us up from the hotel (with a great ToyotaLandcruiser 4x4 - which was very important as it turned out later, as we coulddo so many offroad trails in the park). Throughout the three days, we feltabsolutely comfortable with him and his driving style - just as a side note. Hewas truly knowledgeable about the wildlife and the nature within the park. Also, whenever else we engaged in conversations about life in Kenia, he wasvery open and fun to talk to. Of course, we also enjoyed his fine sense ofhumor! As to the safari itself, we saw a lot of different species. Sami couldtell us many things about their habitat, their life, etc..  Sami made surethat we also got to see the different types of landscape represented in thepark, as he realized that this was of great interest to us, which was totallyamazing. We have travelled already quite extensively different parts of theworld; we have met many local guides through these travels and we can only say:Sami went at great length for us, he made our trip a truly memorable one and weare looking forward to a next safari with him in the future!

Kenya Jungle Safari

Reviewed August 31, 2018

When we were planning the Kenya jungle safari, a friend of mine recommended Samuel , who had been their tour guide.  Everything was perfect about the safari which included the accommodation ,  the hospitalities of the hotels and I would have to say it was The Vacation of a life time !!!!

It would not be possible to say enough about Samuel  [our guide's] qualities in terms of knowledge of Kenya and ability to find animals and birds  during the safari in Masai Mara. He was also entertaining, fun, engaging with my kids and extremely accommodating. Five star plus for Samuel as an extremely competent driver,  one of the best I've experienced. Everything used to be on time as indicated by him.In addition, he has wide experience and knowledge in other areas, a constant source of conversation, information and pleasure. . He has great attention to detail to make sure that he could provide anything we might need.

If anyone’s planning Kenya, I would highly recommend Samuel  and the tour we took and would love to take  another in the future - Thank you so very much Samuel  for having arranged the magnificent trip we took!!

Amboseli, West and East Tsavo - July 2018

Reviewed July 15, 2018

This is a guy who loves his job, is very knowledgeable and totally looks after his clients.

We did a 4 night/5 day safari then a drop off at a Diani beach hotel - Amboseli, West and East Tsavo -

family of 5 adults

We arranged our trip to Kenya ourselves, choosing to book direct with a local guide rather than use a travel agent.

For our first night we booked an apartment close to the airport, as our safari was starting early the following morning. When we arrived at the apartment Samuel our safari guide had already contacted the owner to confirm our pick up time in the morning.

We started our tour driving to Amboseli, with a game drive on route to our first safari lodge. We stayed in that area 2 nights. Samuel made sure we had an amazing time spotting many animals and birds, the water levels were still quite high and some roads were flooded and closed. Samuel’s knowledge of the parks was amazing, he also had a good eye for spotting animals from a distance. At one point another safari jeep had got stuck, Samuel got his tow ropes to assist also giving advice on how to drive out of the situation.

We also visited Tsavo West, this area is a lot different, it was very interesting finding out about the geology of the area, especially the Shetani lava fields, again Samuel was very knowledgeable.

Our next stop was Tsavo East, here we saw the ‘red’ elephants that Samuel had told us about and also cheetahs, then the icing on the cake was lions with lion cubs about 3 weeks old.

Finally we had the last morning game drive then drove to Diani Beach. Samuel even gave us a mini tour of Mombasa on the way, stopping off to take photos.

On arriving at our hotel in Diani Beach Samuel gave us his contact number in case we needed anything - he was on his way back home to Nairobi that evening to see his family before starting a new safari.

Oh boy did we need him again - my son and girlfriend had left their passports and money in the safe in Tsavo East. Samuel contacted the hotel to see if any safari guides were coming down to Diani and could drop them off. He said leave it with him. The following evening Samuel turned up at our beach hotel with passports and money in hand. No one had been coming as far as Diani, only as far as Mombasa, so instead of going home to his family he stayed in Mombasa to personally bring the passports and money to us. For this I can not thank him enough.
