We had a wonderful time with Ilaria.  She is very knowledgeable about the history of the area and has excellent English.   The streets were hot and full of tourists, but  it really gave us a feel for this old historic city.  

We four Australians took a day trip from Naples and visited Pompeii (second visit for some of us) and Herculaneum (first visit for all of us).  Ilaria was promoted by our driver as the "queen of guides".  It was a well merited accolade. Ilaria was engaging, knowledgeable, and discriminating - both in avoiding crowds, and showing us things that she perceived would interest us, and be a little more than the usual tourist gawk.  It was a really enjoyable trip.  If you are thinking of a trip to either place, read up a little before hand, and try to snare Ilaria as your guide.  It is hard to imagine that you could do any better.  Bravo Ilaria
