In November 2014 I spent 2 weeks on a Trekking tour in the Khumbu valley (Lukla to Kala Pattar) with my guide Ramesh Jirel. He's a very friendly and responsible person with excellent english skills. During the Trekking Tour he was looking after everything. He always arranged the best accomodation and food places so it was very easy for me to relax and just to enjoy my holidays. He can also give you useful cultural informations. I can strongly recommend him and will definitely choose him again if I'm going back to Nepal. He became a very good friend on the trip...many thanks again, Ramesh!

Ramesh is a fantastic guide and I can't say enough great things about him. He's worked as a guide for 15 years and his experience shows. His knowledge, patience and kind demeanour were all so much appreciated. I always felt very safe as a female traveller and he was an excellent sport when asked for "protection" from the odd goat, buffalo or spider! He was also happy to talk as we trekked but provided plenty of space for us to do our own thing. One thing of particular value was that we were permitted to customise our Annapurna Circuit trip once on the trail. Upon getting to Jomson after all the days of peaceful trekking, it became clear that walking on the hot, dusty road was not going to be much fun. I proposed hopping the bus to Tatopani and instead spending those days trekking in the Annapurna Sanctuary - and that was what Ramesh ensured we did. That level of flexibility just made the trip and ensured we enjoyed our whole time on the trail.

Amazing Annapurna Trek!

I hiked the Annapurna Circuit trek with my sister and had an amazing time! Ramesh Jirel, our guide, was very experienced and knowledgeable (15+ years of experience). He took excellent care of us and catered to our many requests. I felt very safe in his care. He guided us along the path, told us about the culture, acted as a translator, served all our meals, monitored us for signs of AMS, reserved all our rooms (including a night at high camp and rooms with attached bathrooms)- and he did it all with a smile and a positive attitude. He was very flexible when we changed our plans nearly every day (we were the only two on the tour). He knew the area very well and gave a lot of input. We had such a great time that we may hike to Everest Base Camp with Ramesh in a few years!
Ramesh was our guide for the Everest base camp trek in Nepal. The trek was a very pleasant experience. He was very warm, welcoming and professional at all times. During the trek, one of my friends, unfortuantely, suffered from altitude sickness and Ramesh called it at the right time. He calmly and patiently explained why it was necessary to leave the mountain. This is due to a guide that monitors his clients and cares for them. I would happily go for another trek with him when/if I come back to Nepal.
An Awesome Trip with Ramesh

Me and two friends decided to trek to Everest Base Camp over Christmas and had Ramesh Jirel as our guide. Ramesh is fantastic- very knowledgeable, caring, and always attentive to safety and our well-being. He made sure we were all well fed and had everything we needed for a great trip. I had the unfortunate situation of becoming sick early on in the trek. I had terrible gastric issues followed by symptoms of acute mountain sickness and, in the end, needed to be heli-rescued from the Everest region (Note: this is rare- so don't let that deter you!). Ramesh monitored me the whole time and, after advising me to descend, left my friends in the hands of a very capable guide and accompanied me to the hospital in Kathmandu. I was there for a couple of days, and he checked in with me regularly. After I recovered in hospital, I now had a few days free, so Ramesh suggested going to Pokhara where he took me to Austalian Camp to view the Annapurna Mountain Range at sunrise. All to say, Ramesh made sure I had an awesome and memorable adventure despite having to cut the EBC trek short. With his experience, professionalism, and focus on safety, I know I’ll be contacting Ramesh again when I make my second attempt at EBC!
