Elzo was everything you can expect from a guide: polite, helpful, fun and knowledgeable. We were a group formed by people of different ages and we all truly enjoyed our time with him. I look forward to going back and seeing him again. 

Normally I am not even the kind of person who likes taking a tour with a guide, but hence to the fact that I traveled with my mom, was that - I assumed - an better choice. But not only was that an good decision, it was the best we could have done, on top with a guide like elzo, who is authentic, honest a heard driven man who loves to show and explain his tourist/visitors his country, his island, his roots, his home his love.

He will bring you to places you will not visit without elzo.

I do absolutely recommend elzo to everybody who comes to cape Verde and needs a hand to get around be around but also be a part of the community and the locals.

Elzo is one of the best guides we've ever had. He is comparable to the two safari guides we had in Tanzania.

He is gracious, knowledgeable, joyful, patient, and entertaining. His heritage is of the Island and a proud resident. He hiked with us and told us stories of his family. He even serenaded us (he has a beautiful voice) and taught of us of the Island music. We enjoyed our day and learned of his island...from the top of Mount Verde to Catfish Bay (with the most scenic strong wind and surf) to the small fishing village of Salamanca to the city of Mindelo. The fine white sand dunes (the winds bring the sands from the Sahara Desert) are beautiful and a massage for the feet. And the breathtaking views of the surrounding islands and gorgeous ocean envelope. A special surprise was a large fertile wash filled with plantings, the Valley of Calhaus..so lush. Its bounty is sold at a vegetable market, supplementing the food that must be imported. Elzo is a professional, in the best sense of the word...A++++..... 

Elzo provided an excellent tour. He was so knowledgeable of the island and managed to answer all of our questions (sometimes ridiculous questions, from my father-in-law). 

I felt we got good value for money, the price was a fair price considering fuel, driver, lunch, knowledge and time.

We needed and English speaking tour guide and Elzo's English is very good. We have been coming out to the island for 5 years now and we should have gone on this tour years ago. We learnt so much!

The restaurant Elzo took us to for lunch was really great. I would highly recommend Elzo as a tour guide. You could not get any better for cost, honestly, knowledge and value for money. You get what you pay for and our group of 4 were all delighted with the entire experience. What a great day on Sao Vincente!
