If you ever happen to find yourself in Cappadocia, ask for Yucel Acik. He is the best tour guide you can find and he made our trip enlightening and fun. We are friends of Hande and are from India. We love history and Yucel made our Cappadocia trip so memorable. He is very informative and very passionate about the history of Cappadocia. He would talk for hours about Cappadocia and cracks jokes in between, bringing smiles and laughter. We did not have a single bored moment with Yucel. We met Yucel after our lovely Turkish friend ("Hande Hanim") recommended and introduced him to us based on her past holiday experience with her husband to Cappadocia. When we met Yucel, I couldn't help but notice how friendly and confident he is, and his English is also perfect! Immediately I knew we were in good hands. He took us for both the red and blue tours over the next two days. While on his guided tours, there is not a single dull moment thanks to his jokes and sense of humour and he is always giving useful and relevant information enriching our experience and even our knowledge about the history of the place from the Hittites to the Byzantines to the Romans to the Greeks. You name it, he knew it all. I believe he is also a teacher, researcher and a student of theology. All that apart, he is a very good human being and completely in sync with the people he guides. He knew when to slow down and when to pick up the pace. It felt like we were traveling with a friend rather than a "guide". We were recommended to Yucel by our friend - Hande Tekin and we contacted him on arriving at Cappadocia. Yucel is one of a kind! His knowledge of the land and the history is second to none, he takes his time to explain the nitty gritties of the history and value of the spot and tells you candid stories from the local folklore and urban legends. Yucel has a great sense of humor and is very helpful. We really enjoyed our tour as he kept us engaged throughout the day and kept everyone of us involved even though we were a multicultural group. Being fans of history ourselves, Yucel had appropriate answers to our questions and even added extra titbits of knowledge. Overall it was a wonderful experience and the people from his agency - Bridge of the World were quite helpful. Definite recommendation to anyone going there. We met Yucel during our holydays in Cappadocia, we were his first Italian group and we enjoied our tour a lot. My friends and I would have never expected to enjoy both the green tour and the red tour so much, also thanks to Yücel. We loved them also because he made us enjoy them. We were never bored, all the things he taught us were interesting, funny and captivating.
