My wife and I hired Gerardo for two days in the La Fortuna area: Arenal volcano hike, Rio Celeste area and so on. Gerardo was an excellent guide with perfect English language skills and a brand new luxury Italian SUV. We found him to be knowledgeable about not only the places we visited, but also about the animals and plants we saw there. He knows all about the snakes, birds and wildlife and can tell it all in an interesting manner. He was always "on time" and a real gentleman. My highest recommendation to a very nice man - a real pro. Five stars!

Gerardo was a wonderful guide for Arenal Volcano and the nearby waterfall. He was very knowledgeable and personable, with a great sense of humour. A real pro!

Gerardo went the extra mile for me by: 1) Traveling about 3 hours (one way) from his home to our birding site in order to guide me. 2) He brought along another excellent birder (his friend Warren, who was good enough to be a good bird guide himself). Together, they provided excellent guiding services to me. 3) He purchased a river boat tour ticket for me as part of his guide service because he knew it would provide a unique opportunity to see many species we would not otherwise be able to find. 4) Although our agreement only provided for a 3-hour tour, Gerardo and Warren both extended the tour to about 6 hours, helping me find about 14 new life-list species.

I would hire either of them for another birding trip without any hesitation.
