Amod is an exceptional guide - he knows both the Ajanta and Ellora sites extremely well and takes continuos tours to the areas. He knows a lot of the people who work there too and has daily information with updates to share. His knowledge of the sies, their history and creation, the art, and their value in comparison to world art and architecture, as is his fluency in English, Hindi and Marathi, is outstanding. He is proficient in the details of the art and sculpture of the caves, and in answering questions, including those on Indian mythology and religion. I must also add that he is understanding, kind, and well spoken; is also very patient. He asks your comfort levels, gives you options and makes time for questions, going beyond just Ajanta and Ellora. I would highly recommend him.

By far, one of the finest guides that we have had. Amod was extremely knowledgeable. His communication skills were outstanding. He was willing to go into as much depth as we required. All he said was "press a button" and he would dive into more details. Some of the earlier reviews have said the Amod was not just a guide but a "professor". I would endorse this. Thank you Amod for making our visit to the caves special.

Amod is more than a guide! He is a professor! He gave us a lecture, but, as a sensitive gentleman, first ask us how deep we would like the explanation! Considering we like to know everything, he explained all. During these 27 days trip he was by far the best guide we had. And also extremely friendly.
The best guile in India

We saved Aurangabad for the last leg of our trip to India. Amod Basole was a spectular guide. He taught us about the history, philosophy, art, politics and culture of India. He listened to what we wanted to do and see, and spent as much time at every 'cave' as we wanted to spend. I would highly recommmend his services. By the end of our time in Aurangabad, we felt Amod was a friend.
