My solo trip for a week on the highlands of Nicaragua was facilitated by my new friend Ron Lechado.  From pickup at the airport, all driving duties, translator, historian, and native guidance to the ways of life in this beautiful land.  Ron introduced me to several foods, customs, and "off the beaten path" excursions in the north.  We stayed at Selva Negra Ecolodge for the week; made several trips into the Matagalpa city and surrounding district.  A visit to Jinotega and the lake/lagoon farther north for a Coffee/cacao farm.  Spent time in Esteli, where Ron introduced me to some expats he knew.  An invaluable resource when visiting the museums and other places of historical and cultural significance.  Ron made my first return trip to Nicaragua in 12 years, a confirmation that I will be returning soon and will request his services exclusively.
