My own country, Turkey is exotic, colorful, romantic, ever-old and ever-new and is the gateway and the key to the fabled East.

It has been the Cross roads of the Trojans and the Greeks, the Persians, the Romans, the Byzantines, the Crusaders, the Ottomans and the Turks.

It was also the Cross road of trade routes.The spread of Christianity and later Islam followed the trade routes.

Smyrna (Myrrh) and Ephesus were the beginning of the these trade routes.

I have been living in the Smyrna and Ephesus area for the last 15 years, and because of this Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman culture, religion history and mythology fall into my area of special interest.

To know Turkey’s 10,000 years of history and to explain it and make you feel it is my goal.
