Arrive in Marrakech and stay overnight before setting off early the next morning for Imlil, the starting point of your trek in the foothills of the world-renowned High Atlas Mountains. From Imlil, hike toward the summit of Jebel (Mount) Toubkal at 4167 m, the highest mountain in the High Atlas and in all of North Africa. Along the way, enjoy magnificent vistas of the Atlas Mountains and surrounding plains, pass through traditional Berber villages, and experience an unforgettable mountain adventure.

At the summit, enjoy fantastic 360-degree panoramic views of the Atlas Mountains, the peaks of the Anti-Atlas including its highest point, Siroua (3304 m), and the Haouez plains.

The itinerary

Day 01

Marrakech to Imlil and Trek to Toubkal Refuge

In the morning, travel to Imlil, the starting point of your trek, by high-quality minibus, 4x4, or taxi. From here, begin hiking via Sidi Chamharouch, high up in a narrowing river valley where two rivers converge.
Enjoy lunch near this shrine, which regularly attracts groups of religious pilgrims.
After lunch, continue trekking to the Toubkal Mountain Refuge.
After a well-earned dinner of traditional Berber fare, spend the night camping nearby or in the refuge itself.

Day 02

Summit Mount Toubkal and Return to Marrakech

Depart early after breakfast for the ascent of Toubkal.
At the summit, enjoy fantastic 360-degree panoramic views of the Atlas Mountains, the peaks of the Anti-Atlas including its highest point, Siroua (3304 m), and the Haouez plains.
Take time to enjoy the views, take photographs, including of the impressive summit metal cairn, and relax a little before beginning the descent. Return to the refuge, pass Sidi Chamharouch shrine, and continue back to Imlil Village.
Then return to Marrakech by minibus, 4x4, or taxi.
If required, we will book your hotel room and dinner in bustling Marrakech.
