Day by day

The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Marrakech

Arrive in Marrakech and stay at the hotel overnight.

Day 02

Journey through Tizi n Tichka and the Draa Valley

Start from Marrakech at 8 am and drive towards the Tizi n Tichka pass with a local Berber guide. Then, drive down to the other side of the High Atlas to arrive in Ouarzazate city.
Have lunch.
Continue to the Draa Valley, passing by several ksours and fortified villages, some inhabited and some abandoned in ruins, and then on to Zagora town, the gateway to the desert.
Drive to the Dunes of Lalla Kebira, the starting point of the trek and camp, where you can take a short walk around the oasis and some sand dunes. Overnight in tents after 7 hours of driving.

Day 03

Trek from Lalla Kebira to Beni Ali Oasis

After breakfast, start the trek by walking down towards Beni Ali Oasis, then break for lunch in the shade of the palm grove.
After lunch, carry on to the wild oasis of Foum Taqqat beside Jebel Bani, where you will camp overnight in tents after 5 hours of walking.

Day 04

Walk through Nesrate Oasis and Berber Villages

After breakfast, walk down through the palm grove to the lunch place in the oasis of Nesrate.
Continue through several Berber villages along the valley to your camp at Ksar Ait Isfoul. Overnight in tents after 6 hours of walking.

Day 05

Farmlands and Tidiri Dunes Camp

After breakfast, start another lovely day of walking through farmland and small sand dunes until you reach the lunch place close to the Sidi Saleh shrine.
After a delicious lunch, continue to the camp near the Tidiri dunes. Overnight in tents after 5 hours of walking.

Day 06

Trek through Tidiri to Erg Lihoudi

After breakfast, head off for the best highlight of this trek and walk through the dunes of Tidiri.
Arrive at the dunes of Regabi. After lunch, reach the last camp on the Erg Lihoudi dunes. Overnight in tents after 6 hours of walking.

Day 07

Return Journey to Marrakech

Have breakfast and start the long journey back to Marrakech, with a few breaks on the way to enjoy the good views.
Take photos and have lunch.
Stay overnight at the hotel after a 7-hour drive.
