Description
During this 2-day hiking program in the Moroccan High Atlas, you will make the ascent of Jebel Toubkal, the highest point of the Maghreb and North Africa. Enjoy Berber hospitality at the Toubkal refuge, and take a gentle trek to the summit.
Itinerary
-
Day 1 - Marrakech To Imlil Nelter Refuge
- Pick up from the hotel after a quick breakfast and go for an 80-minute drive to Imlil.
- Meet the rest of the team before embarking on a 5-6 hour trek to the small shelter under the top of Toubkal. The paths are quite steep and narrow as you continue to rise through the secluded mountains in some places. The route takes you through several passes before you arrive at the shelter, where you can enjoy Berber hospitality and spend the night.
-
Day 2 - Refuge De Toubkal To Imlil
- Make the ascent to the highest point of Maghreb. The last peak of Toubkal is wide, and the climb is not much steep. Marvel at the cliffs that overlook the other side of Lake d'Ifni.
- After reaching the highest point in North Africa, you will descend to Imlil, where you'll be picked up for the return trip to Marrakech.
