After four hours drive from Dar Es Salam (Tanzania’s business city) to the southern of Tanzania, you will encounter a beautiful and evergreen mountain covered by the thick rain forest standing right before your eyes. That should be a remainder to you that you are now in the land of the beautiful city of Morogoro which was formerly known as town of Simbamweni. The town links two Tanzania’s major cities of Dar Es Salam and Dodoma.

It is undeniable truth that Morogoro is now becoming the focal point of tourism activities  to the southern circuit. This doesn’t just happen by chance but becouse Morogoro has become a globally recognized tourism attraction, and that there are many tourism facilities here now. This city is also closer to two of Tanzania’s prominent cities, Dar Es salam which is the business city where the largest Tanzania’s international airport is located and Dodoma - the capital city of Tanzania. 

Morogoro is the best place for anyone who love mountain climbing, nature walking, wildlife safari, cultural tours, historical tours and agro tourism.

Morogoro is also home to several national parks and reserves that is easily accessible from Dar Es Salaam city like Mikumi national park, the Udzungwa national park, Uluguru Mountains, even the largest game reserve in the world is hosted in land of Morogoro. Not only that but also Morogoro is bordered with the Ruaha national park - the largest national park in Tanzania. Also, you can also easily access the Saadan National park which is the only national park in Tanzania that shares it's border with the Indian Ocean.


Among many tourism attractions located in Morogoro, Uluguru Mountain is the icon of Morogoro.  It is very close and can openly be seen and climbed from Morogoro Town. Uluguru mountain is about 2630 m high from the sea level. Due to it's altitude and richness of endemic species, Uluguru Mountain is currently becoming the hot spot for those who love nature walk in the rain forests or just to do some bird watching or medium and challenging hikes, enjoy  spectacular views of different stunning waterfalls like the Hululu waterfall located at Bunduki or the Choma waterfall at Morogoro town or the Kisimbi waterfall in Kinole.
