Mt. Everest Expedition 2016 spring

Mt. Everest 8848m, top of the world is a dream of all the mountain climbers to summit it in their life time. It was scaled in 29 May 1953 by Sir Edmond Hillary from New Zealand and Tenzing Norgey Sherpa from Nepal. Since then, 4428 climbers have had climbed Mt. Everest. Thousands of climbers had lost their life during their climbing or on the way down to base camp. Basically spring season is considered a good season to climb the Mt. Everest than an autumn.

Climbers in 2016: Spring season is considered as a good season to climb the Mt Everest. There are 280 climbers who have obtained a permit to climb the Mt Everest to this year. There is 29 different nationalities including 1 Nepali, 61 Indian, 56 USA, 26 UK, 20 China, 15 Australian, 12 UAE, 10 Japanese and other Peru, Malaysian, New Zealand., Guatemala, Poland, Brazil, Austria, Slovak, South Korea. There are 52 women in the team.

There was a big accident in Khumbu icefall in 18th of April 2014 and 16 Sherpa Climbers (Guide) were swiped away from avalanche. After the accident the other Sherpa also quit their expedition to show their solidarity to their friends/ co-worker who were passed away. The nest year in 2015 there were some 357 climbers who were obtained the permit to Mt. Everest Expedition but unfortunately, April 25th 2015 had big earthquake and the life was badly affected. Due to the disaster of earth quake, the climbers had left their expedition.

Everest Expedition General: The climbers took almost 2 month to complete to their expedition. They set Base Camp, Advance Camp and 4 other camp to the summit. The 4th camp is set above 7000m which is considered as a death zone. They said that Due to the thin oxygen level they would not get enough supply of oxygen to their blood and as a result their mind would not work properly. As a result, they think themselves smart and are ok to go ahead. On the summit day, they start their final push almost at midnight after the wind stop. As they have said that they have to quit their expedition before 2:00pm.

Everest Expedition Permit: It is require obtaining the climbing permit to climb the Mt. Everest from Nepal government, mountaineering department. They must apply their permit through the registered agency in Nepal. The Nepal government have declared that the climbers have to pay US$1100/ person in Spring US$5500/ person in autumn and US$2750/ person in Summer and in winter season through normal route. The permits from other routes are cheaper than the normal route (south east).

Everest climbing guide: There are around 400 (experienced mountaineers) guides to assist the expedition to the Mt. Everest. Many Sherpas Guide have been climbed the Everest previously. If any the expedition team want to hire a guide to led to the top, they have to pay US$2500-US$4000+daily allowance+ insurance+ meal till the base camp+ transfer to and from the caravan starts. That could be around US$5000 to US$8000 for one expedition.

Other items:

Liaison officer: Every expedition exceeding 6500m will require to a Liaison Office. They would go till the base camp and repost to Nepal government of the progress of expedition. After the successful climb, they will approve to the official certification.

Oxygen: When going more higher, the level of oxygen would get lesser and less. It will be difficult to breathe when there is low rate of oxygen.

High altitude Porter: High altitude porters are to carry the luggage to the higher camp. They must know basic mountaineering and climbing.
