2-Day Inca Trail and Machu Picchu Tour from Cusco

The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is one of the best hikes in the world because of the exquisite beauty of its natural surroundings. From high Andean plains to the cloud forest, this adventure allows you to explore mysterious archaeological sites, half-covered with jungle overgrowth as if we were discovering them for the first time. 

  • Day 1: CUSCO – AGUAS CALIENTESexpand_more
    • Transfer you from your hotel to the train station. The train ride will last for about 3 hours.
    • Go to the ruins of Chachabamba.
    • Pass a small and refreshing waterfall on the way to the ruins of Winay Wayna, where the impressive platforms will demonstrate the skill of Andean engineering. Have lunch.
    • Continue the walk to Inti Punku (Puerta del Sol) to have the first sight of Machu Picchu as a beautiful panoramic of the town on the hill. 
    • Take the bus to Aguas Calientes to spend the night. Have dinner.

    Overnight stay at Condor Palace hotel or Machu Picchu vista hotel.

  • Day 2: MACHU PICCHU – CUSCOexpand_more
    • Begin the trek to Machu Picchu at 5: 30 am after breakfast.
    • Tour the different sectors of the complex archaeological site, including the Intihuatana or sundial, used by ancient Peruvian settlers.
    • Climb the mountain of Huayna Picchu (optional) at 10:00 a.m.
    • Board the train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo at 6 pm, make sure to be at the station at least half an hour in advance.
    • Return to Cusco from Ollantaytambo station.

  • Bring correct footwear suitable for trekking, warm clothes and waterproof clothing in case of rain.
  • The briefing will take place one day before the trek in the hotel at 7 pm, where you will receive all the necessary information for your trip.
  • Hotel pickups commence before this time.
  • Pick up any hotel or hostel around the main square (Plaza de Armas).
