4-Day Classic Machu Picchu Inca Jungle Trek

Description

This is one of the best adventure treks in Cusco! It captures the majestic energy of Machu Picchu through ancient paths designed by the Incas that will make you feel full of adrenaline. This tour lasts four days and grants you access to a panoply of adventure sports like biking, rafting, zipline, and much more.

Itinerary
  • Day 1: Cusco - Huyroexpand_more
    • Have breakfast, travel through picturesque villages and beautiful landscapes until reaching the Abra Malaga Mountain(4350 m.a.s.l.). 
    • Descend on top-scale mountain bikes for 3 hours, going through rural villages, rivers, orchards, and streams reaching the Huamanmarca.
    • Go to Santa María for rafting.
    • Return to Huyro.
  • Day 2: Huyro - Pastoexpand_more
    • Eat breakfast and go to the Pasto Grande and start walking for 4 hours along a high forest, observing small coffee and cocoa plantations and fruit trees among the abundance of flora and fauna. 
    • See many types of plants, orchids, birds, and other wild animals. 
    • Walkthrough the Inca road to the community of Pumachaca.
    • Continue towards the hot springs of Cocalmayo.
    • Return to the lodging in the town of Santa Teresa.

    Overnight stay at Cajamarca Hostel.

  • Day 3: Santa Teresa – Aguas Calientesexpand_more
    • Start at the town of Santa Teresa. 
    • Hike for approx—3 hr. until reaching the hydroelectric too. Have lunch. 
    • Continue along the path for 3 hr., go through waterfalls, coca, and coffee farms until arriving at the town of Aguas Calientes.

    Stay at a hostel in Santa Teresa.

  • Day 4: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cuscoexpand_more
    • Go to Machu Picchu, following an ascending route through the high forest and see the sunrise.
    • Return by walking (2 hours) Aguas Calientes to Hydroelectric to return to the city of Cusco, arriving around 9:00 pm.
