  • Sun Protection: A wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, and high-SPF sunscreen.
  • Electronics: A camera with extra batteries and memory cards, binoculars, and a universal travel adapter.
  • Health: Personal medication, a basic first-aid kit, insect repellent, and hand sanitizer.

  • Flights: Luggage on internal flights is typically restricted to 15 kg (33 lbs) per person in a soft-sided bag.
  • Health: Consult a doctor or travel clinic well in advance regarding recommended vaccinations and malaria prophylaxis.
  • Safety: Always follow your guide's instructions during game drives and other activities, and do not walk around the camp alone after dark.
  • Tipping: Tipping your safari guide and camp staff is customary to show appreciation for their service.

  • Plastic Bags: Kenya has a nationwide ban on single-use plastic bags; do not bring any into the country.
