Historical Tour of Cusco's Archaeological Sites
12:30 PM: Pick-up from the Main Plaza. We will visit the following places:
Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun): This site displays the magnificence of Quechua culture and was one of the main sacred temples dedicated to the worship of their deities.
Sacsayhuamán: A ceremonial centre showcasing the challenging and dedicated construction work linked to the cult of Lightning (Illapa) and fertility (Llama), with blocks exceeding 120 tons.
Quenqo: A centre dedicated to the cult of Pachamama and the observation of solstices, which were crucial for predicting harvest times and seedtime.
Puka Pukara: A control point on the trails leading to Antisuyo, the path to the jungle during Inca times.
Tambomachay: A centre dedicated to the worship of water, featuring finely carved natural rock water sources. It is also considered a resting place for travellers from other regions.
