Day 01
Sacred Valley Tour to Pisaq, Ollantaytambo, Maras, and Moray
- This tour can start from different locations, such as Cusco, Urubamba, Ollantaytambo, and Yucay, with the last three located in the Sacred Valley.
- I will meet you at your hotel at 7:00 am to begin the tour with about a 1-hour ride to the Pisaq archaeological complex from Cusco, or about 1.5 hours from most Sacred Valley hotels. This beautiful Inca site features the Temple of the Sun, an ancient Inca cemetery, terraces, water fountains, remarkable architecture, and amazing views of the Sacred Valley.
- Then we continue to the Ollantaytambo archaeological complex for about a 1.5-hour detailed tour of the Temple of Water, the Temple of the Sun, the Bath of the Inca Princess, agricultural terraces, and more.
- Ollantaytambo is also known as a living Inca town, so we will take a short walking tour through its streets to experience the architecture of this old town.
- After that, we head to the amazing pre-Hispanic salt mines of Maras to experience the history of the largest salt mines in the Andes. The last archaeological attraction will be the ancient Inca agricultural site of Moray, located on the small plateau of Maras.
Note: Because this is a full-day tour, you may want to stop for lunch, and that is perfectly fine. I can take you to any place you have in mind or recommend a great place to eat.
