4-Day Machu Picchu Trek from Cusco on the Inca Trail

• Meet your guide at 6:30 am and arrive at the hotel by 10:30 am.

• Meet the team that will join you during the trek, including the porters, camp assistants, and cooks.

• Begin the walk. The first day is quite easy, and during the first kilometers, you will enjoy a beautiful view of the snow-peaked Veronica Mountain. Walk alongside the Vilcanota River and reach the Archaeological Complex of Patallacta.

• Have lunch and regain energy before continuing to Huayllabamba, where the first camp will be set up.

• After breakfast, the hardest part of the trail begins, with a steep ascent followed by 3 hours of walking until reaching the first pass, called Warmiwañusca (Dead Woman), at approximately 4200 m.a.s.l. Enjoy the incredible panoramic views from here.

• After lunch in Vizcachayoc, descend towards Pacaymayo (3500 m.a.s.l.) for dinner and camp.

• After breakfast, begin the ascent to the second most important pass of the route, at 3900 m.a.s.l. Enjoy a guided visit to the Archaeological Complex of Runkurakay and the Inca Citadel of Sayacmarca (3,600 m.a.s.l.).

• Have lunch in Chaqquicocha.

• Continue walking towards Phuya Patamarca (Town in the Clouds), another important archaeological monument.

• After a brief rest, continue walking until arriving at Wiñay Huayna (Always Young), where you will enjoy a guided visit to this spectacularly located Archaeological Complex.

Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Note: The above are the regular campsites according to the circuit operated by Enjoy Peru. However, these may vary according to dispositions made by the Machu Picchu Management Unit without prior warning, but this will not affect the itinerary.

• After breakfast (approximately 05:00), start walking for one hour through the forest to Inti Punku (Door of the Sun), known as the front door to Machu Picchu, from where you will have an impressive panoramic view of the Inca Citadel.

• Upon arrival at Machu Picchu, explore the ruins and monuments, such as the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Solar Clock, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, and the cemeteries. Enjoy free time to stroll around the Citadel.

• Meet the rest of the group to be transferred by bus to Aguas Calientes for lunch (not included).

• In the afternoon, return to Cusco by train.

• Upon arrival in Cusco, transfer to your selected hotel.
