Head from Christ the Redeemer into the Tijuca Forest on a 6-hour tour through two of Rio de Janeiro's most iconic sights. Ideal if you have already seen Sugar Loaf, this experience combines the city's main landmark with viewpoints, a waterfall, and the visitor center of Tijuca Forest. Once deforested for coffee planting, Tijuca Forest now covers 4,000 hectares and is considered the lung of Rio de Janeiro. Thanks to reforestation efforts led by D. Pedro II over 13 years from 1861, 95% of the forest has been rejuvenated.

Christ the Redeemer and Tijuca Forest Sightseeing

• Pick-up at your place in the south or central zone of the city of Rio.
• Visit Christ the Redeemer, simply the main attraction of Rio de Janeiro.
• Stop at the Dona Marta viewpoint.
• Visit the Chinese View, where this Chinese pagoda offers a different perspective of the city (closed on weekends and holidays).
• Admire Taunay Waterfall, a waterfall painted several times by the French artist Taunay.
• Visit the Visitors Center, the museum of Tijuca Forest.
• Drop-off at your place.

Know before you go

Start time:

• At 6:30 am
• My car is a 7-seater SUV and can accommodate 6 passengers, plus me as the driver-guide.
• For tours, I recommend a total of 4 adults and 2 more persons up to 1.60 meters tall in the 2 back seats.
• For more than 4 adults over 1.60 meters, I rent a van with a driver at an extra cost so that the tour is extremely comfortable for everyone.
