This combination tour offers an experience of vastly different atmospheres: the tranquility of the Tijuca Forest and the charming Santa Teresa neighborhood. In 6 hours, you'll explore a large part of Tijuca National Park, including the Chinese View, the Taunay Waterfall, and a scenic drive. In Santa Teresa, ride the trolley for city views and visit colonial houses, the Selarón Steps, and the Ruins Park. Santa Teresa is a bucolic neighborhood in Rio, famous for historical buildings and Brazilian gastronomy, while the Tijuca Forest shares borders with all four zones of Rio de Janeiro.

Santa Teresa and Tijuca Forest Sightseeing

• Pick-up and drop-off at your place in the south or central zone.
• Ride the Santa Teresa Trolley.
• Visit Ruins Park (closed on Monday).
• See the Selarón Steps, a beautiful tile project created by the artist Selarón.
• Stop at the Chinese View, where this Chinese pagoda offers a different perspective of the city (closed on weekends and holidays).
• Visit Taunay Waterfall, a waterfall painted several times by the French artist Taunay.
• Drop-off at your place.

Know before you go

• Start time: 7:30 am on weekdays and 8:30 am on weekends, to avoid big lines at the Santa Teresa trolley.
• My car is a 7-seater SUV and can accommodate 6 passengers, plus me as the driver-guide. For tours, I recommend a total of 4 adults and 2 more persons up to 1.60 meters tall in the 2 back seats.
• For more than 4 adults over 1.60 meters, I rent a van with a driver at an extra cost, so that the tour is extremely comfortable for everyone.
