The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Courmayeur and Group Briefing

  • Arrival of participants. The most convenient airport for arrival is Geneva Airport.
  • Alternatively, Milan or Turin airports can also be considered depending on travel plans.
  • Transfer from the airport to Courmayeur in Italy.
  • Dinner with the group followed by an introductory briefing from the guide.
  • Accommodation in a hotel, apartment, or similar lodging in Courmayeur.

Day 02

Aiguille de Toule Acclimatisation Ascent

  • Preparation for upcoming ascents, including acclimatisation and equipment fitting.
  • Morning meeting with the guide for an equipment check and completion of formalities.
  • Transfer to the Skyway Monte Bianco cable car station.
  • Ascent to Rifugio Torino at 3375 metres.
  • Glacier approach and ascent to Aiguille de Toule at 3534 metres.
  • From the summit, in good weather, enjoy excellent views of Mont Blanc.
  • Descent back to Courmayeur.
  • Total walking time: 3 to 4 hours.
  • Total ascent on foot: 159 metres.

Day 03

Guide del Cervino Acclimatisation and Training

  • Acclimatisation training and guided activities near Rifugio Guide del Cervino at 3489 metres.
  • Transfer to Valtournenche Valley towards Breuil Cervinia at the foot of the Matterhorn region.
  • Ascent by cable car to Plateau Rosa upper station.
  • Short 5-minute walk to the hut from the cable car station.
  • After accommodation in the hut, acclimatisation ascent up to 3900 metres.
  • Preparation for the next day's activity.
  • Overnight stay in a mountain hut.
  • Total walking time: 3 to 4 hours.
  • Total ascent on foot: 411 metres.
  • Total descent on foot: 411 metres.

Day 04

Breithorn Summit Training Climb

  • Climbing the Breithorn at 4164 metres.
  • Early start for the ascent as training before the main Mont Blanc climb.
  • Technically simple ascent with spectacular views of the Western and Central Alps.
  • Descent back to the hut and then by cable car to Breuil Cervinia.
  • Transfer back to Courmayeur.
  • Training day completed before the main ascent of Mont Blanc.

Day 05

Rest and Recovery in Courmayeur

  • Full rest day before the Mont Blanc ascent.
  • Time for recovery and preparation.
  • Overnight stay in Courmayeur.

Day 06

Approach to Gouter Hut via Chamonix

  • Transfer from Courmayeur to Chamonix.
  • After breakfast, transfer to the French side via Les Houches.
  • Ascent using cable car and mountain tram to Nid d'Aigle station at 2372 metres.
  • Start of pedestrian ascent from Nid d'Aigle.
  • Easy walk to Tête Rousse Hut.
  • From here, roped ascent over rocky terrain to Gouter Hut at 3835 metres.
  • Overnight stay in a mountain hut.
  • Total walking time: 6 to 7 hours.
  • Total ascent on foot: 1458 metres.
  • Height descent: none.

Day 07

Mont Blanc Summit Attempt and Descent

  • Summit attempt of Mont Blanc at 4810 metres.
  • Most demanding and responsible day of the programme.
  • Early departure at around 3 AM in darkness.
  • Ascent begins on a wide snowy slope towards Dome du Gouter at 4304 metres.
  • Short descent followed by another ascent towards the final ridge.
  • Final section involves a narrow and steep snow ridge leading to the summit.
  • Descent via the same route back to Gouter Hut.
  • Continue down to the mountain tram station and cable car system.
  • Return to valley and transfer back to Courmayeur.
  • Total walking time: 8 to 10 hours.
  • Total ascent on foot: 980 metres.
  • Total descent on foot: 2423 metres.

Day 08

Departure and Transfer to Geneva Airport

  • Transfer from Courmayeur to Geneva Airport.
  • Departure for onward journey and return home.
