Guadalajara Historic Center and Cultural Landmarks

Begin at Guadalajara's Historic Center. It consists of buildings, monuments, plazas, and parks, and carries more than four centuries of history, including Colonial, neoclassical, baroque, and Gothic architectural styles.
Visit the Government Palace, Guadalajara Cathedral, City Hall, Teatro Degollado, the Church of St. Augustine, the Church of Santa Maria de Gracia, and the Cabañas Cultural Institute, a heritage site that features several frescos.
Continue to Plaza Tapatía, a monumental square that stretches from Teatro Degollado to the Instituto Cabañas. Covering about 70,000 square meters, the square houses several attractions, including fountains and sculptures.
Tour the three-floor covered San Juan de Dios market, located in the heart of the historic center.
