Pietracamela Village Walk and Hike to Prati di Tivo
Begin the journey by visiting Pietracamela, 1,005 metres above sea level, with its distinctive houses built beneath a rock - hence the name - at the foot of Corno Piccolo. It is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, and it is exciting to get lost in its intricate uphill alleys, some of which are still uninhabitable after the 2009 earthquake.
Visit the Museum of the Nations and Ancient Crafts, set up in the Town Hall, which contains images, objects, and tools from the daily life of the peasants.
Continue to the highest part of the village and follow a marked trail that leads up to Piazzale dei Prati di Tivo. Stay here for an hour.
Arrive at the square of Prati di Tivo, one of the most famous mountain resorts in the province of Teramo, and admire the northern wall of Corno Grande, the highest peak of the Apennines, with its characteristic dolomite.
Partake in a picnic with local products.
