Day 01
Secret Rome from Circo Massimo to Trastevere
- Our walk will begin at the Great Circus (Circo Massimo), an ancient hippodrome. From there, we will go to the magnificent Aventine Hill, which tourists often do not reach.
- There are many wonderful things to see on the Aventine Hill. In summer, you can enjoy the magical atmosphere of flowers from all over the world. In winter, you can enjoy ripe citrus fruits in the orange garden.
- Next, we will go down the evergreen path to the Tiber and visit the church where the ancient "Lie Detector" is located, i.e. the Mouth of Truth. We will also see the ancient temples of Portuna and Hercules and visit the Theatre of Marcellus, from where you can go to the Jewish Ghetto.
- An interesting place in Rome is Tiberina Island, a real island on the Tiber River. We will walk along the island, and the excursion will end in the Trastevere district, where we will get acquainted with this beautiful, colourful area of Rome.
- Romans choose to spend their free time in Trastevere because they love it for lunches and dinners. We will visit the main churches and squares of this area, learn their history, and plunge into the world of magical Rome.
