The itinerary

1
Day 01

09:00 - Meeting at the Tourist Service Centre

  • Here, we have a tourist service centre where we can use the toilet, drink water, and get some flyers and maps.
  • If we are lucky, we can even get a free tour, although this is not always available.
  • Usually, we use this time to organise our things and prepare for the day.
2
Day 02

09:20 - Begin Exploring the Area

  • We will go around the whole area in a counterclockwise direction, talking about each building and taking time to admire the views that the different angles provide.
3
Day 03

10:00 - Visit Niterói's Bus Terminal

  • We will visit the heart of Niterói's public transportation system.
  • We will also talk more about how people used to move around in the past.
4
Day 04

10:10 - Ferryboat Terminal and City Symbol

  • Here we have the city's symbol: a statue of its founder, Araribóia.
  • From here, we can also see other important landmarks in the landscape and talk about them.
5
Day 05

10:20 - A Slow Walk Through History

  • As they say, we walk and stumble upon history. Here, it is no different. That is why we will be walking slower than a tortoise!
6
Day 06

10:30 - Remembering the Enslaved

  • Because this was one of the places where people were trafficked for forced labour on farms and in houses, let us remember their story in front of this sacred place.
7
Day 07

10:40 - Niterói's Theatre

  • Art was a privilege in the days of the empire. We will learn some curiosities about this place.
8
Day 08

10:50 - Stories of Rink Plaza

  • This is one of the places that marks the beginning of the neighbourhood and, as usual, it is full of stories.
9
Day 09

11:00 - Conception Mary Church

  • This church holds interesting stories and has a nice museum full of sacred objects.
10
Day 10

11:10 - Republic Monument and Historic Surroundings

  • This was one of the places with status in those days, and it is still important nowadays, as it is surrounded by historical buildings and interesting stories that reveal themselves just by looking at them.
11
Day 11

11:20 - Walk Through Water Reservoir Park

  • A very pleasant walk in the park - literally! We will be able to see art, flora, fauna, architecture, and nice views.
  • All of this comes simply by wandering along its paths.
12
Day 12

12:00 - Saint John's Cathedral

  • A plaza and a church always marked the city's main area for events and meetings. Here, we will understand more about this dynamic of Portuguese heritage. It is the last church we will visit - I swear!
13
Day 13

12:20 - Lunch Break with Local Flavours

  • Sore feet and knees? Why not cool them down with a cold beer (not included) and the house's traditional seafood dishes (not included)? It is definitely the cherry on top.
14
Day 14
