5-Hour Niterói State Park Hike with Coastal Lookouts and Local History

Day 01

9:00 - Meet, Briefing, and Gear Check

• From this plaza, we can buy refreshments or use the toilet if needed.
• If we are lucky, there may be a popular fair taking place not far from here.
• It is the perfect time to have a briefing on the activity and organize the gear.
• Why not do some stretching before the activity?

Day 02

9:20 - Sebastian Church

• We will begin our journey at the top of a slope where the Christian priests once had a nice view of the whole region.
• We will talk about history and get better situated in the region.

Day 03

9:30 - Swallows Trail

• At the entrance to the community, we will find out that the place we are entering connects the city's past to its present and future through fishermen's cultural resistance.

Day 04

9:50 - First Lookout

• From here, we will see one of the most beautiful beaches in the region: Itacoatiara.

Day 05

10:10 - Second Lookout

• After a short walk in the opposite direction from the previous lookout, we will have a better view of Itaipu.
• It is a great place for taking pictures and having a bite.
• Do not forget to rehydrate too.

Day 06

10:30 - Swallows Lookout

• Here, we will get a bigger picture of the Itacoatiara neighborhood and the vastness of the Atlantic Sea in the background.
• We will also be able to see the highest hill in Niterói State Park: Elephant Rock.

Day 07

10:50 - Cactus Lookout

• As the self-explanatory name suggests, we will find many cactus specimens, but do not worry - it is safe.
• From here, we will also have a better view of the other parts that compose the shore, including other beaches.

Day 08

11:30 - Fishing Point

• This is the last place we will visit before we head back.
• It is an amazing feeling of freedom and a humble experience to witness the wilderness that surrounds us here.

Day 09

11:50 - Return Hike

• Now it is time to head back, and it will be easier because you already know the path.
• But never overtake the tour guide.

Day 10

13:00 - Food and Drink Break

• Time to taste some seafood! (not included)
• Drink some beer! (not included)
• Or just enjoy the view!
• It is all good.

14:00 - Tour End

• It has been a pleasure.
