Day 02
Quito and the Middle of the World
- Have breakfast and begin your journey with a visit to the city of Quito, known as the "Reliquary of Art in America." In November 1978, it became the first city to be declared a Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Ecuador's cultural, governmental, historical, financial, and tourist center is also one of the most modern cities in South America.
- On this day, visit its old quarter with baroque churches and viewpoints.
- Enjoy taking photos at latitude 0 and standing simultaneously in two hemispheres.
Day 03
Otavalo Market and Cuicocha Lagoon
- Transfer to the city of Otavalo early in the morning after breakfast. It is one of Ecuador's most important tourist destinations, known for its indigenous market, handicrafts, gastronomy, and people.
- Visit Cuicocha Lagoon, the Otavalo market, and a musical instruments workshop in Peguche.
Day 04
Cotopaxi National Park and Riobamba
- Leave for the south, crossing the Panamericana, the highway that runs through the whole country and connects Ecuador with Colombia and Peru. This road is known as the Avenue of the Volcanoes.
- Enjoy a spectacle of volcanoes, including Cayambe, Imbabura, Cotopaxi, Altar, Sangay, and Chimborazo.
- Stop at Cotopaxi National Park.
- Walk for a few minutes around Limpiopungo Lagoon.
- Continue to Riobamba.
Day 05
Chimborazo Reserve and Ingapirca to Cuenca
- Visit the Chimborazo Reserve early in the morning.
- See the highest snow-capped mountain in Ecuador, along with many llamas and alpacas living freely under the reserve's protection.
- Continue south and visit the archaeological complex of Ingapirca on the way (open from Wednesday to Sunday).
- Rest in this beautiful city upon arrival in Cuenca.
Day 06
Cuenca City Tour and Flight to Quito
- Visit the city of Cuenca, "The Athens of Ecuador," considered one of the most beautiful in the country for its architecture, traditions, people, and beautiful landscapes.
- Explore the Cathedral, the toquilla straw hat factory, the Turi viewpoint, and the flower market in the city.
- Transfer to the airport in the afternoon to take your flight to Quito.
Day 07
Return Flight to Quito
- Take our transportation to the airport in Cuenca for your flight back to Quito, depending on your flight time.
- From this day, you can extend your stay to the Galapagos Islands or take a jungle tour.
- Contact in advance for a customized tour.
