The itinerary

Day 01

Hike to Sierra Negra and Volcán Chico

This tour begins with an early 30-minute bus ride towards Volcán Sierra Negra, followed by a hike up to the volcano caldera. Along the way, you can observe plants and birds endemic to the Galápagos Islands, and, if the weather allows, you will have great volcano views.

This volcano erupted in July 2018, so you will see the remains of the last eruption. If you think this is all, the traverse continues towards Volcán Chico, located on the eastern side of Sierra Negra. Both volcanoes are still active, and with some luck, you may be able to see some activity. Then, we return to the park control and back to town.
