The journey
Pantalica, together with Syracuse, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the largest rupestral necropolis in Europe. This hike takes you through two canyons shaped over the centuries by the Anapo and Calcinara Rivers, where you will be completely surrounded by history, archaeology, rushing water, and the wind through the trees. Marvel at the thousands of tombs dug into the flanks of the mountains, dating back to the Late Bronze Age, and discover the hidden gems of Pantalica, including natural swimming pools of great beauty and incredible views.
