Head into Rio de Janeiro’s west zone for a rewarding hike to Pedra do Telegrafo, one of the city’s most photographed viewpoints. Set within the State Park of the White Rock, this moderate trail begins with a steeper section before opening up to sweeping coastal views.

From the top, take in panoramas that include Restinga da Marambaia, Selvagem Beach, Recreio dos Bandeirantes Beach, Barra da Tijuca Beach, and Gávea’s Rock. You’ll also have the chance to capture the famous illusion photo at Bigorna Rock, where it looks like you’re hanging dramatically over the edge.

Pedra do Telegrafo

It is a moderate hike and a little steep in the beginning. From up there we appreciate an spectacular view that includes the Restinga da Marambaia, the Selvagem Beach, the Recreio dos Bandeirantes Beach, the Barra da Tijuca Beach and the Gávea’s Rock.
